My brother's funeral is at 9pm our time tonight. Last night, my mum and sister had to write something so that my other sister who is in the UK for the funeral can relay it to the florist.

They wrote a short thing each, but couldn't bear to read it out over the phone, so they asked me to do it. I did it to help them, because I knew they couldn't manage, but I really wish I didn't have to. It was awful. Just thinking about it now is making me cry... they were only short things, but it really broke my heart. I'm very glad that I took the day off today.

Happier stuff.. Theresa and I are going shopping with Amanda soon. We have a few bits and pieces to buy, plus Mum needs a bottle of Drambuie for tonight. I am going into the hairdresser to have another look at their body jewellery. I need a bar somewhere in between 14 and 22mm.. I still have my original 22mm bar in, and I need a shorter one. I bought a few from the web, but 14mm is way too short (poor me and my overly thick tongue). I think I'll go to 18mm and see how that works.

I suspect that the shop I'm going to today won't have any in odd sizes, but I'm going to look anyway. If I can't get it, I'll order a couple from pierceoff and have them by Monday anyway, since they ship overnight. I was disappointed because the Koosh/silicone spiky one that I bought is on a 14mm bar, but then last night I discovered that the koosh ball *does* in fact unscrew! Oh happy day. I will also order a flat disc end titanium barbell, for days when I don't feel like having a ball in.

Better go and eat my breakfast, the bacon is getting cold.
